Finance Intern

Internship Description

The Slow Food UW Finance department manages the revenues and expenses accrued by the organization. Slow Food’s main operation this semester is our To-Go basket program, providing students and community members with produce baskets. The finance intern will assist the finance director in organizing weekly spreadsheets detailing revenues and expenses from the To-Go basket program, as well as assist in setting the weekly budget for the sourcing team. The intern will additionally monitor other financial aspects of the organization, such as merchandise sales and South Madison expenses. Experience with creating and maintaining expense sheets is recommended. However any candidate may apply as long as they have a willingness to develop these skills. 

Average Time Commitment

4-6 hours per week


  • Dedication to community service
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Accounting/Finance course experience preferred 
  • Flexible to new challenges and occasional chaotic working conditions
  • Able to attend weekly finance/logistics meetings (30 min- 1 hr)

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Manage orders and revenues from squarespace + venmo account weekly and create a report for the sourcing team
  • Organize and monitor merchandise sales
  • Assist director in various logistical tasks (setting up communication platforms, managing personnel for Slow Food events, assisting in distribution of market baskets)
  • Attend weekly logistics meetings to create a more efficient team environment
