Since 2007, our outreach efforts have been broad and diverse. In the past workshops were on topics like canning, composting, chocolate making, and other skills, monthly movie nights, lectures given by farmers and chefs, volunteer work trips to local farms, and more! More recently, Outreach has now been focused on working with the larger UW community like other student organizations to help bring the ideals behind Slow Food UW to more people on campus. A few of our campus partners are F.H. King Students for Sustainable Agriculture, REthink Wisconsin, and the Alumni Foundation, in order to put on specialized events. Outreach project interns and the new director will work with past campus organizations and create new relations as well. The Outreach Intern will play an essential role in the planning and execution of our Spring Gala, our primary annual fundraising event. This project requires highly dedicated, organized, and creative individuals with the freedom to create new and exciting events.
