Work With Us

Food Is More Than a Meal. It’s a Movement.

Slow Food UW was founded in 2007 by Genya Erling, a graduate student, as a way to bring local foods from Southern Wisconsin farmers to campus. Since then, we have grown to run 3 projects, serving 120+ meals weekly, with over 60 interns, support from our volunteers, and community members.

At Slow Food UW, we believe food is local, political, and powerful. Our team works at the intersection of sustainability, research, community organizing, and storytelling to strengthen the local food system in Madison and connect it to a global movement.
